Our experience of automotive press photography is that it is heavy on logistics, there is usually a very big budget and what comes with big budgets are equally large expectations and responsibilities. There is usually a celebrity aspect to the automotive event we photograph and a small window of time, sometimes seconds that we have to capture the celebrity with the car, usually on a new reveal or a premiere of some sort. This shot is widely regarded as the money shot and it’s literal. We have on occasion created millions of pounds of press coverage with one image, so the term money shot could not be more descriptive. When you have merely seconds to get such an important shot, you could imagine one would get flustered and sometimes fail. Yes it’s stressful but we use this energy to our benefit and our focus is heightened, we don’t let a thing get in our way and have never missed that money shot. That kind of tenacity and resilience are the skills you need us to have so that the images we take can leverage the most press coverage for you and ultimately set you apart from the pack.
Car companies have the budget to utilise resources to beat the competition, whether it be ‘A’ class celebrity endorsement or a huge production for that wow factor reveal. Therefore it’s undeniably essential you get the right photographer to capture whatever that huge budget has afforded, because you can’t do it over. That would be JAB!
